Reiki FAQs
What is ReikiReiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese name consisting of 2 words Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life energy (commonly known as Universal Life Energy), an energy which is found all around us. Reiki is a form of spiritual healing using "universal life energy" channelled through the practitioner to the recipient. Reiki helps harmonise the body, mind and spirit. Reiki restores balance in one’s life. Reiki healing can be given anywhere at any time as no special equipment is needed. The practitioner is a channel which the energy is drawn through by the need or imbalance in the recipient. Reiki HistoryThis system was born out of the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui, 1865 to 1926, a Japanese pioneer physician and spiritual seeker who, about a hundred years ago, undertook an extensive study and search of the healing phenomena of history's greatest spiritual leaders. Through travel, study, research and meditation he evolved a healing system based on ancient Buddhist teachings written in Sanskrit. He spent the rest of his life practicing and teaching this method of natural healing. Reiki principlesAt least for today:
What can be treated with ReikiReiki has been known to have positive effects on different illnesses and negative conditions, from head and stomach aches, colds, flu, stress and anxiety to more serious illnesses. Also side effects of medical treatment have known to be reduced. Some people experienced complete healings but of course this cannot be guaranteed A Reiki TreatmentThe method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process. The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. The main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. A full treatment usually takes approximately from 45 to 90 minutes. Distance Reiki can also be given – details upon request. Please NoteIn case of illness or disease I would like to stress that you should seek the advice of a qualified GP/Doctor. Reiki is a complementary therapy and is not intended as an alternative to conventional medicine.
